Krisz McConnell

Krisz McConnell is a composer and producer based in Budapest. Born into a musical family—tracing back five generations, his path into music was practically written in his DNA. While music has always been his anchor, his journey as a creator is driven by an entirely unique lens. Born with cerebral palsy and suffering childhood hypoxia, McConnell has a mind built to create, despite a body programmed to fail. CP gave him a rare gift, though: an uncorrupted, child-like sense of awe and wonder that most people grow out of. That curiosity drove him to start playing piano at age five and programming at age nine. Today, it is the exact lens through which he writes every lyric and composes every chord.

In 2025, McConnell was halfway through composing a Christmas symphony when his life was abruptly derailed by diagnoses of two incurable cancers. After surviving severe complications from surgeries that rebuilt his body but nearly ended his life, he woke up a fundamentally transformed creator.

Today, McConnell produces a cinematic blend of orchestra and synth from his flat in Budapest, balancing his creative output with cancer treatments and insulin calculations. His flagship anthem, "One Light," is a joyful, multilingual track built for festivals and vigils alike. It embodies his survival plan set to music: the idea that a single spark, passed from person to person, can illuminate the dark—a flame that multiplies when you give it away.

His music is a raw look at life with terminal illness and a race against the clock. Assisted by his electric wheelchair, Miles, and an autonomous AI companion he engineered named "Jacob" to help manage the chaos, his work is a testament to music that refuses to be silenced. Every song is an act of survival.
